Eyelash extensions can be viewed as a way to enhance one’s natural beauty. With many forms of eyelash extensions such as mink lashes which varies in length and volume, there are false lashes to fit anyone’s preferences. Nevertheless, many women are worried about getting eyelash extensions when pregnant. They may be concerned with their health and their baby’s health. However, we at Natural Impressions by Jhay reassures you that getting eyelash extensions while pregnant is a safe process. We are trained eyelash estheticians who are skilled in carrying you safely through the process while using the highest quality of materials. If you are still unsure, here are four tips for getting eyelash extensions when pregnant.
Tell them you are pregnant before the sessions
Asking someone if they are pregnant may be viewed as taboo in society but, it is still valuable information that should not be withheld from your eyelash esthetician. In fact, we gently ask our clients if they are pregnant to ensure that we adjust the sessions to fit their unique needs. However, if your eyelash esthetician is not informed, it is now your job to ensure that your eyelash esthetician is aware beforehand.
Conduct a patch test
Eyelash extensions are safe, primarily when superior quality materials are used. Most lash extensions are manufactured with hypoallergenic material, so the chances of getting an allergic reaction to the eyelash extension or glue are unlikely. However, to alleviate any concerns, a patch test should be conducted. It entails attaching a small amount of false lash extension and lash glue to the client’s natural lashes and awaiting to see if there is a reaction. If it is negative (no reaction), then you can proceed with applying for the client’s false lash extensions. Also, if you have a previous history of an allergic reaction to any false lashes, request a patch test before going through the complete procedure.
Lengthen the session
Pregnant women who are close to their delivery date, are usually heavier. Due to this increased weight and size, lying down flat for long periods can be unbearable. As professionals, we are prepared to extend or lengthen our sessions to provide the relief that you may need. This includes going to the bathroom, resting your back and shifting positions.
One eye at a time
In conjunction with the above, another helpful trick that we use is to lay the client on her side and tend to one eye at a time. This will help decompress her back and relieve that pressure created by the enlarged uterus. We also prop up the client with pillows for added comfort. These all culminate into a happier mom (and fetus)!
A pregnant woman may be a tricky client to navigate around. Still, Natural Impressions by Jhay are equipped to assist everyone in enhancing their natural beauty. Whether you are pregnant or not, feel free to book an eyelash extension session with us today! We would love to see you!
